After we got our tattoos done on Monday, I texted my dad and told him about it (is texted even a word?). He was thinking about getting one also. He said that “always faithful” in Latin is Semper Fidelis, adopted by the Marines. Interesting, but my dad was in the Air Force, not the Marines. So keeping the “always faithful” (immer treu) in German with the cross, my dad and stepmom also got tattoos. In honor of the family name, Randy’s trip, and keeping all of us a little closer together even if we are far apart, we now have two more permanently inked relatives. I am proud to be a Hairston.
